Fewer blind spots
When cloud, darkness or a missed pass hides the ground from one sensor, another can fill the gap.
Sperrin Labs is a small research lab in Northern Ireland. We are building Cybele Engine, an AI system that fuses a wide range of sensors with custom open-source intelligence into one clear picture of how the ground is changing across Europe.
Satellites, radar, airborne and spectral surveys, ground stations and weather records each catch something the others miss, yet they are usually studied apart. Cybele brings them together with custom open-source intelligence, such as planning records, permits, public reports and geotagged media, so a change that is faint in any one signal becomes clear when several agree.
Each signal is brought onto one shared grid and timeline, whatever its format, resolution or age.
A learned model weighs each signal by how far it can be trusted at that place and time, then combines them into one estimate.
Change is reported with its location, size and confidence, along with the evidence behind it.
When cloud, darkness or a missed pass hides the ground from one sensor, another can fill the gap.
Agreement across weak signals should surface change sooner than any single source could confirm it.
Every result traces back to the data behind it, so people can check the evidence before they act.
Cybele is in stealth, and we share details privately. If you work in environmental monitoring, land management, infrastructure or research, we would like to hear from you.
An AI system that combines many kinds of sensor data about the same place into one picture, so that change on the ground can be spotted, measured and explained.
A wide range of sensors, from orbit to the ground, alongside custom open-source intelligence feeds that most monitoring tools never touch. We share specifics in private briefings.
The lab is based in Northern Ireland, and our current test region is Europe, from upland peat and forestry to farmland, coastlines and river systems.
That is the plan. We intend to publish the core engine openly so the method can be checked and reused.
Yes. We are open to research partners, data partners and early users. Get in touch and we will arrange a briefing.
Tell us a little about your work and what you would like to know. We reply to every message.
